Espanola Valley Sundevils (Espanola, NM) supporters were in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball team hold off the host Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), 3-2 in a non-league contest.

The Sundevils (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Shiprock (Shiprock, NM). The Chieftains enter the non-league contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Shiprock got by Dulce (Dulce, NM), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Bears battle the Grants Pirates (Grants, NM) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 14. Wingate will attempt to move on its 0-8 season record. The Pirates enter the contest with a 3-5 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM).
