In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Max S. Hayes Lakers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Richmond Heights Spartans.

The Lakers (8-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Firestone (Akron, OH). The Falcons come into the non-league challenge with a 2-6 record.

Next, the Spartans play the Lutheran West Longhorns (Rocky River, OH) in a Chagrin Valley - Metro challenge, on Tuesday, September 17. Richmond Heights will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 3-1 league loss to Fairview (Fairview Park, OH).
