In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Palatine Pirates volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Vernon Hills Cougars.

The Pirates (8-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Woodstock North (Woodstock, IL). The Thunder enter the non-league challenge with a 4-0 record. In their last challenge, Woodstock North beat Harvard (Harvard, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Waukesha North Northstars (Waukesha, WI) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 14. Vernon Hills will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Northstars enter the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 3-0 league loss to Mukwonago (Mukwonago, WI).
