East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) supporters left the game in high spirits Wednesday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the host North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 3-2 in a non-league match.

Next up, the Gators clash with the Whiteville Wolfpack (Whiteville, NC) in a Waccamaw 1A/2A match, on Thursday, September 16. East Columbus will attempt to advance on its 7-1 season record. The Wolfpack come into the match with a 9-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC).

With the loss, North Brunswick drops to 0-9 on the campaign. The Scorpions travel to South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to clash with the Cougars in a Mideastern 3A/4A match on Thursday, September 16. The Cougars come into the match with a record of 0-6. South Brunswick lost 3-0 in their recent league match against Laney (Wilmington, NC)
