In Thursday's non-league game, the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) football team knocked off the host Hendersonville Bearcats (Hendersonville, NC), by a score of 14-6.
The Hilltoppers (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Brevard (Brevard, NC). The Blue Devils come into the non-league game with a 4-1 record. In their last game, Brevard toppled East Rutherford (Forest City, NC), 14-0, in a non-league game.
The Bearcats now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Polk County for a non-league game on Thursday, September 22.
