In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Guilford Vikings soccer squad scored a close 3-2 triumph over the DeKalb Barbs.

The Vikings (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against Jefferson (Rockford, IL). The J-Hawks come into the Northern Illinois NIC-10 battle with a 5-7 record. In their last battle, Jefferson was nipped by Harlem (Machesney Park, IL), 2-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Barbs battle the Waubonsie Valley Warriors (Aurora, IL) in a DuPage Valley bout, on Tuesday, September 20. DeKalb will attempt to move on its 5-4 season record.
