Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Tug Valley Panthers (Williamson, WV), 10-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Miners face the PikeView Panthers (Princeton, WV) in a Coalfield AA challenge, on Saturday, September 17. Mingo Central will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Mercer Christian Academy (Princeton, WV).

The Panthers now have a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Independence for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 20. Tug Valley will face a Patriots team coming off a 12-0 league loss to Lincoln County (Hamlin, WV). The Patriots record now stands at 1-6.
