Texas High School Football - Merkel topples Bangs

September 15, 2023: Bangs, TX 76823

The Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) football defeated the host Bangs Dragons (Bangs, TX), 54-37 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Badgers face the Coahoma Bulldogs (Coahoma, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 22. Merkel will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Bulldogs enter the bout with a 3-1 record after their 49-20 non-league win over Colorado (Colorado City, TX).

The Dragons (1-3) will now prepare for their bout against De Leon (De Leon, TX). The Bearcats enter the 2A-1 Region II District 5 bout with a 3-1 record. In their last bout, De Leon defeated Hico (Hico, TX), 24-10, in a non-league bout.
