The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets (Bessemer City, NC) and the host Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), observed Bessemer City's football squad bounce Thomas Jefferson by a count of 47-13.

The Yellow Jackets now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Highland Tech for a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest on Friday, September 22. Bessemer City will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 74-0 league loss to Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Rams record now stands at 0-5.

Coming up next, the Gryphons encounter the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest, on Friday, September 22. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Golden Lions go into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 56-0 league win over Cherryville (Cherryville, NC).
