The Mercer County Golden Eagles football team (Aledo, IL), was knocked off 42-13 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Farmington Farmers (Farmington, IL)

The Farmers (4-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Elmwood/Brimfield (Elmwood, IL). The Trojans come into the Lincoln Trail-Prairieland - Large challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Elmwood/Brimfield was knocked off by El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL), 45-6, in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Knoxville for a Lincoln Trail-Prairieland - Large challenge on Friday, September 22. Mercer County will meet a Blue Bullets team coming off a 49-0 non-league win over Lewistown/Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Lewistown, IL). The Blue Bullets record now stands at 4-0.
