Texas High School Football - Sabine nips Mount Vernon

September 15, 2023: Gladewater, TX 75647

In Friday's non-league match, the host Sabine Cardinals football squad scored a close 30-27 victory over the Mount Vernon Tigers.

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, TX) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 22. Sabine will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Pirates enter the match with a 1-3 record after their 43-35 non-league win over Independence (Frisco, TX).

The Tigers (3-1) will now prepare for their match against Mineola (Mineola, TX). The Yellowjackets enter the 3A-1 Region II District 5 match with a 1-3 record. In their last match, Mineola was nudged by Bullard (Bullard, TX), 49-10, in a non-league match.
