The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces football squad scored 49 points and restricted the host Newton Eagles to 7 in the Golden Aces league victory on Friday.

The Golden Aces now possess a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Paris for a Little Illini battle on Friday, September 22. Mt. Carmel will face a Tigers squad coming off a 20-13 league loss to Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 2-2.

Coming up next, the Eagles face the Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) in a Little Illini battle, on Friday, September 22. Newton will attempt to advance on its 0-4 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 0-4 record after their 12-6 league loss to Marshall (Marshall, IL).
