In Friday's league match, the host Newtown Nighthawks football squad scored a good 30-7 victory over the New Milford Green Wave.

In their next game, the Nighthawks clash with the Trumbull Eagles (Trumbull, CT) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 22. Newtown will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 1-1 record after their 28-20 league win over Danbury (Danbury, CT).

The Green Wave (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Middletown (Middletown, CT). The Blue Dragons enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Middletown was toppled by Glastonbury (Glastonbury, CT), 14-13, in a non-league match.
