In Monday's non-league outing, the visiting Marquette Catholic Explorers soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Granite City Warriors.

The Explorers (8-3) will now prepare for their outing against Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL). The Crusaders go into the Gateway Metro outing with a 9-2 record. In their last outing, Althoff Catholic got by Columbia (Columbia, IL), 3-1, in a non-league outing.

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, September 17. Granite City will attempt to advance on its 1-6 season record. The Lancers come into the test with a 0-5 record after their 4-0 non-league loss to Columbia (Columbia, IL).
