In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Perry Maroons softball team scored a tight 6-2 victory over the Ponca City Wildcats.

The Maroons (15-14) will now prepare for their match against Chisholm (Enid, OK). The Longhorns go into the 3A match with a 7-14 record. In their last match, Chisholm was routed by Alva (Alva, OK), 9-1, in a league game.

The Wildcats now hold a 6-5 record. They play next when they host Stillwater for a non-league game on Tuesday, September 16. Ponca City will play a Pioneers squad coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Tushka (Atoka, OK). The Pioneers record now stands at 12-4.
