In Monday's non-league match, the host Varnum Whippets softball team scored a tight 4-1 victory over the Weleetka Outlaws.
The Whippets (14-10) will now prepare for their match against Macomb (Macomb, OK). The Hornets go into the non-league match with a 15-8 record. In their last match, Macomb was routed by Earlsboro (Earlsboro, OK), 7-2, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Outlaws battle the New Lima Falcons (New Lima, OK) in a Class A match, on Tuesday, September 16. Weleetka will attempt to better on its 12-11 season record. The Falcons go into the match with a 6-10 record after their 8-4 non-league loss to Mason (Mason, OK).
