The Grant Union Prospectors football team (John Day, OR), was ripped 44-0 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Umatilla Vikings (Umatilla, OR)

The Vikings (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Riverside (Boardman, OR). The Pirates come into the 2A Special District 4 challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Riverside trounced Stanfield (Stanfield, OR), 32-20, in a league challenge.

The Prospectors now sport a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Irrigon for a 2A Special District 4 challenge on Friday, September 23. Grant Union will meet a Knights team coming off a 46-8 league loss to Heppner (Heppner, OR). The Knights record now stands at 0-3.
