In Friday's non-league game, the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish (Akron, OH) football team knocked off the visiting Sandusky Blue Streaks (Sandusky, OH), by a score of 42-14.
The Fighting Irish (3-1) will now prepare for their game against Harding (Warren, OH). The Raiders come into the non-league game with a 1-4 record. In their last game, Harding was knocked off by Ursuline (Youngstown, OH), 28-14, in a league game.
The Blue Streaks now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Columbian for a Sandusky Bay - Lake game on Friday, September 23. Sandusky will battle a Tornadoes team coming off a 62-8 non-league win over Waite (Toledo, OH). The Tornadoes record now stands at 4-1.
