Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Omaha Central Eagles (Omaha, NE), 14-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Islanders now own a 4-16 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fremont for a A District challenge on Tuesday, September 20. Grand Island will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Columbus (Columbus, NE). The Tigers record now stands at 18-6.

With the loss, Omaha Central falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Bellevue West (Bellevue, NE) to battle the Thunderbirds in a A District challenge on Tuesday, September 20. The Thunderbirds enter the challenge with a record of 8-13. Bellevue West lost 9-3 in their recent league challenge against Lincoln Northeast (Lincoln, NE)
