In Saturday's non-league game, the St. Anthony's Friars (Melville, NY) football team knocked off the visiting Monsignor Farrell Lions (Staten Island, NY), by a score of 27-14.
The Friars (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Chaminade (Mineola, NY). The Flyers come into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Chaminade was dropped by Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, NY), 20-18, in a non-league game.
The Lions now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Cardinal Hayes for a non-league game on Saturday, September 23.
