Winona Winhawks (Winona, MN) fans were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Kasson-Mantorville Komets (Kasson, MN), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Winhawks confront the Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN) in a Class AA Section 1 challenge, on Tuesday, September 19. Winona will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 3-5 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Austin (Austin, MN).

The Komets now have a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they host Plainview-Elgin-Millville for a Class A Section 1 challenge on Monday, September 18.
