In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Corinth Holders Pirates soccer squad scored a close 1-0 win over the Pinecrest Patriots.
The Pirates (3-4) will now prepare for their battle against Cleveland (Clayton, NC). The Rams go into the Greater Neuse River 4A battle with a 6-1 record. In their last battle, Cleveland nipped Wake Forest (Wake Forest, NC), 3-1, in a non-league battle.
The Patriots (6-3) will now prepare for their battle against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC). The Fighting Scots go into the Sandhills 3A/4A battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, Scotland nipped Red Springs (Red Springs, NC), 4-0, in a non-league battle.
