Iowa High School Volleyball - Clarinda can't hold off Mt. Vernon

In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Mt. Vernon Mustangs volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Clarinda Cardinals.
The Mustangs (14-1) will now prepare for their battle against Lincoln (Council Bluffs, IA). The Lynx come into the non-league battle with a 7-8 record. In their last battle, Lincoln nudged Jefferson (Council Bluffs, IA), 3-1, in a league battle.
Next, the Cardinals encounter the Creston Panthers (Creston, IA) in a Hawkeye Ten battle, on Saturday, September 16. Clarinda will attempt to advance on its 11-8 season record. The Panthers come into the battle with a 5-10 record after their 3-0 league loss to Denison-Schleswig (Denison, IA).
