The Mt. Vernon Mustangs volleyball team scored 2 points and limited the visiting Creston Panthers to 0 in the Mustangs non-league victory on Saturday.

The Mustangs now have a 14-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Albert for a non-league game on Saturday, September 16. Mt. Vernon will meet a Falcons team coming off a 3-1 league win over Shenandoah (Shenandoah, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 5-5.

The Panthers (5-14) will now prepare for their game against Clarinda (Clarinda, IA). The Cardinals enter the Hawkeye Ten game with a 11-8 record. In their last game, Clarinda gained a win over Creston (Creston, IA), 2-0, in a league game.
