In Saturday's non-league battle, the visiting Mendon Hornets volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Dowagiac Chieftains.

The Hornets (11-4) will now prepare for their battle against Decatur (Decatur, MI). The Raiders come into the non-league battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Decatur achieved victory over Cassopolis (Cassopolis, MI), 3-2, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Chieftains clash with the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Lakers (St. Joseph, MI) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 16. Dowagiac will attempt to advance on its 4-4 season record. The Lakers come into the battle with a 6-1 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Eau Claire (Eau Claire, MI).
