The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Mahtomedi Zephyrs (Mahtomedi, MN) and the visiting Elk River Elks (Elk River, MN), saw Mahtomedi's volleyball squad nip Elk River by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Mahtomedi upgrades its record to 4-7 on the year. The Zephyrs host Orono (Long Lake, MN) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 19. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 2-6. Orono lost 3-0 in their recent league bout against Waconia (Waconia, MN)

The Elks now own a 4-10 record. They play next when they travel to Totino-Grace for a Northwest Suburban bout on Monday, September 18.
