The Independence Patriots volleyball team (Coal City, WV), went down 2-0 in Saturday's non-league challenge with the host Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV)

The Vikings (13-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Princeton (Princeton, WV). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 14-3 record. In their last challenge, Princeton went down by Woodrow Wilson (Beckley, WV), 2-0, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots confront the Roane County Raiders (Spencer, WV) in a non-league test, on Saturday, September 16. Independence will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Raiders enter the test with a 8-5 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Sissonville (Charleston, WV).
