In Monday's non-league test, the Appling County Pirates (Baxley, GA) softball squad the visiting Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs (Twin City, GA), by a count of 3-0.

Next, the Pirates meet the Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA) in a 2A Region 3 test, on Thursday, September 19. Appling County will attempt to upgrade on its 13-1 season record. The Bears go into the test with a 9-7 record after their 11-0 league win over Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA).

The Bulldogs (13-8) will now prepare for their test against Screven County (Sylvania, GA). The Gamecocks go into the 1A D-II Region 3 test with a 11-4 record. In their last test, Screven County held off Portal (Portal, GA), 8-0, in a league test.
