The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane softball team scored 18 runs and held the visiting Echols County Wildcats to 13 in the Purple Hurricane non-league win on Monday.

The Purple Hurricane now possess a 3-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clinch County for a non-league battle on Wednesday, September 18. Fitzgerald will confront a Panthers team coming off a 11-3 league win over Charlton County (Folkston, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, Echols County moves to 3-10 on the season. The Wildcats host Turner County (Ashburn, GA) to confront the Titans in a 1A D-II Region 2 battle on Tuesday, September 17. The Titans come into the battle with a record of 0-8. Turner County lost 22-0 in their recent league battle against Irwin County (Ocilla, GA)
