Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) boosters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Marquette Catholic improves its record to 7-9 on the season. The Explorers travel to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL) to face the Griffins in a Gateway Metro test on Tuesday, September 17. The Griffins go into the test with a record of 10-5. Father McGivney Catholic won 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Litchfield (Litchfield, IL)

The Hiltoppers now own a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Staunton for a South Central test on Thursday, September 19. Hillsboro will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-3.
