Virginia High School Soccer - New Covenant nudges Eastern Mennonite

September 16, 2025: Lynchburg, VA 24501

Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) and the visiting Eastern Mennonite Flames (Harrisonburg, VA), saw New Covenant's soccer squad hold off Eastern Mennonite by a count of 1-0.

The Gryphons (6-0) will now prepare for their battle against Timberlake Christian (Forest, VA). The Tornadoes enter the non-league battle with a 1-7 record. In their last battle, Timberlake Christian was edged by Grace Christian (Staunton, VA), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Flames battle the Christchurch School Seahorses (Christchurch, VA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 19. Eastern Mennonite will attempt to move on its 6-2 season record. The Seahorses come into the match with a 3-2 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA).
