In Tuesday's league challenge, the Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) soccer squad overwhelmed the visiting Hickory Grove Christian Lions (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 9-0.
The Spartans now hold a 7-2 record. They play next when they host Gaston Christian for a NCISAA Metrolina challenge on Friday, September 19. Gaston Day will encounter a Eagles team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Concord Academy (Concord, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 3-9.
The Lions (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Grace Academy (Matthews, NC). The Lions enter the non-league contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, Grace Academy beat The Fletcher School (Charlotte, NC), 3-0, in a non-league contest.
