In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Fairfield Lions soccer squad scored a close 3-1 triumph over the Alexander Spartans.
The Lions (7-1) will now prepare for their battle against Eastern (Sardinia, OH). The Warriors come into the Southern Hills battle with a 5-3 record. In their last bout, Eastern by North Adams (Seaman, OH), 1-0, in a league bout.
In their next game, the Spartans battle the Southeastern Panthers (Chillicothe, OH) in a non-league bout, on Monday, September 19. Alexander will attempt to move on its 2-6 season record. The Panthers enter the bout with a 0-6 record after their 4-0 non-league loss to Logan Elm (Circleville, OH).
