Game Summary

Armstrong was playing short-handed due to injuries and sickness and we looked like a M*A*S*H unit against Leechburg, but our young men stepped up to the challenge and did not let down a single minute. Charlie Dosch and Aidan McCay stifled and frustrated Leechburg's midfielders all day. The defensemen (Alex Boback, Dante Magagnotti, Landyn Johnson, and Miles Stockdill) stayed on the field nearly all day and played their hearts out, with each recording at least one "hero" play in front of the strong goaltending effort by the steady Caden Smail. The wings and strikers, led by Jordan Callipare, Hunter Reed, and the Formaini twins, had a lot of really close opportunities, but just missed A flurry of activity in the final two minutes by Leechburg nearly notched them a goal, but as the old saying goes, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. The final score: Armstrong 0, Leechburg 0. With this being a non-section game, the coaches agreed to not play overtime.
