The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA) and the host Carroll Tigers (Carroll, IA), saw Newell-Fonda's volleyball squad beat Carroll by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Newell-Fonda upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Mustangs travel to South Central Calhoun (Lake City, IA) to play the Titans in a Twin Lakes bout on Saturday, September 17. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 11-2.

The Tigers now own a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Ballard for a Raccoon River bout on Tuesday, September 20. Carroll will play a Bombers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Des Moines Christian (Des Moines, IA). The Bombers record now stands at 9-6.
