The Maize South Mavericks crushed the host Goddard Lions soccer squad by a score of 8-0 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Mavericks (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Emporia (Emporia, KS). The Spartans enter the non-league battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Emporia ran past St. Mary's Academy (St. Marys, KS), 4-0, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Lions confront the Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, September 19. Goddard will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Hornets enter the battle with a 6-0 record after their 8-0 league win over Arkansas City (Arkansas City, KS).
