In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Cottage Grove Lions volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Newport Cubs.
The Lions (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against South Umpqua (Myrtle Creek, OR). The Lancers come into the non-league challenge with a 4-2 record. In their last challenge, South Umpqua was beaten by Hidden Valley (Grants Pass, OR), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Cubs meet the The Dalles Riverhawks (The Dalles, OR) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 21. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Riverhawks come into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 3-2 league win over Crook County (Prineville, OR).
