In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host Houghton Academy Panthers volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Wellsville Lions.

The Panthers (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Fillmore (Fillmore, NY). The Eagles come into the Section 5 Allegany County challenge with a 4-1 record. In their last challenge, Fillmore lost by Cuba-Rushford (Cuba, NY), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Lions play the Cuba-Rushford Rebels (Cuba, NY) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 19. Wellsville will attempt to advance on its 0-4 season record. The Rebels go into the game with a 3-0 record after their 3-1 league win over Fillmore (Fillmore, NY).
