Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a Southern Carolina 4A challenge, on Wednesday, September 20. Sun Valley will attempt to better on its 5-2 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 5-2 non-league win over Watauga (Boone, NC).

The Eagles now have a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Butler for a Southwestern 4A challenge on Tuesday, September 19. East Mecklenburg will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 4-3 league loss to Providence (Charlotte, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-4.
