The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering Phoenix (Memphis, TN) and the host Hillcrest Vikings (Memphis, TN), witnessed Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering's football squad wallop Hillcrest by a tally of 44-2.
The Phoenix (2-3) will now prepare for their bout against Mitchell (Memphis, TN). The Tigers go into the 2A Region 8 bout with a 3-2 record. In their last bout, Mitchell was crushed by Northpoint Christian (Southaven, MS), 47-30, in a non-league bout.
The Vikings now own a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Trezevant for a 2A Region 8 contest on Thursday, September 25. Hillcrest will battle a Bears squad coming off a 45-6 non-league loss to South Gibson (Medina, TN). The Bears record now stands at 1-4.
