Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) and the visiting Timberlake Christian Tornadoes (Forest, VA), saw New Covenant's soccer squad triumph over Timberlake Christian by a count of 7-0.

The Gryphons (7-0) will now prepare for their match against Blue Ridge (St. George, VA). The Barons come into the Blue Ridge Athletic match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, Blue Ridge nipped Woodberry Forest (Woodberry Forest, VA), 2-1, in a non-league match.

The Tornadoes now sport a 1-8 record. They take the field next when they host Westover Christian Academy for a VACA match on Friday, September 19. Timberlake Christian will confront a Bulldogs squad coming off a 4-2 league win over Temple Christian (Madison Heights, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-1.
