Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Whiteland Warriors (Whiteland, IN) and the host Beech Grove Hornets (Beech Grove, IN), observed Whiteland's volleyball team top Beech Grove by a count of 3-0.

The Warriors (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against Martinsville (Martinsville, IN). The Artesians enter the Mid-State contest with a 7-13 record. In their last contest, Martinsville was knocked off by Franklin Community (Franklin, IN), 3-1, in a league contest.

The Hornets now own a 2-18 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Southport for a non-league battle on Monday, September 22. Beech Grove will encounter a Cardinals squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Lawrence North (Indianapolis, IN). The Cardinals record now stands at 9-9.
