Fans at Thursday's league contest between the North Branch Vikings (North Branch, MN) and the host Big Lake Hornets (Big Lake, MN), observed North Branch's volleyball team hold off Big Lake by a count of 3-2.

The Vikings (5-7) will now prepare for their battle against Cambridge-Isanti (Cambridge, MN). The Bluejackets go into the Mississippi 8 battle with a 1-12 record. In their last battle, Cambridge-Isanti was edged by Princeton (Princeton, MN), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Hornets now own a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Orono for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 23. Big Lake will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Jefferson (Bloomington, MN). The Spartans record now stands at 3-5.
