Worthington Trojans (Worthington, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Luverne Cardinals (Luverne, MN), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Trojans (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Albert Lea (Albert Lea, MN). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-6 record. In their last challenge, Albert Lea was beaten by John Marshall (Rochester, MN), 3-0, in a league test.

The Cardinals now sport a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jackson County Central for a Big South - East outing on Tuesday, September 23. Luverne will play a Huskies team coming off a 3-2 league loss to Windom (Windom, MN). The Huskies record now stands at 6-3.
