In Monday's league battle, the visiting Thornton Academy Trojans volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Portland Bulldogs.

The Trojans (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Massabesic (Waterboro, ME). The Mustangs come into the Class A battle with a 0-7 record. In their last battle, Massabesic was edged by Bonny Eagle (Standish, ME), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Bulldogs clash with the Sanford Spartans (Sanford, ME) in a Class A battle, on Wednesday, September 21. Portland will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Spartans come into the battle with a 6-0 record after their 3-1 league win over South Portland (South Portland, ME).
