The Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights soccer squad scored 3 points and held the visiting Linsly Cadets to 1 in the Maroon Knights non-league victory on Thursday.
The Maroon Knights now hold a 9-1 record. They play next when they travel to Robert C. Byrd for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 21. Wheeling Central Catholic will play a Eagles squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to East Fairmont (Fairmont, WV). The Eagles record now stands at 2-7.
With the loss, Linsly moves to 0-9 on the year. The Cadets host Steubenville (Steubenville, OH) to play the Big Red in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 1. The Big Red go into the bout with a record of 9-1. Steubenville won 6-2 in their recent league bout against Beaver (Lisbon, OH)
