North Carolina High School Football - Sun Valley can't hold off Alexander Central

Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), 20-14 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Alexander Central improves its record to 3-2 on the season. The Cougars host Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to play the Huskies in a non-league battle on Thursday, October 3. The Huskies go into the battle with a record of 0-4. Ashe County lost 62-0 in their recent non-league battle against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC)
The Spartans now have a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 26. Sun Valley will play a Mavericks team coming off a 31-21 non-league loss to Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 2-2.
