Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Cherry Creek Bruins (Greenwood Village, CO) and the host Mullen Mustangs (Denver, CO), saw Cherry Creek's soccer squad hold off Mullen by a count of 5-4.

The Bruins (7-1) will now prepare for their battle against Smoky Hill (Aurora, CO). The Buffaloes enter the 5A/4A Centennial battle with a 4-2 record.

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Loveland Classical Lions (Loveland, CO) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 24. Mullen will attempt to better on its 4-1 season record. The Lions go into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 10-1 league win over Twin Peaks Charter Academy (Longmont, CO).
