In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Grundy Center Spartans volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars.

The Spartans (8-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Dunkerton (Dunkerton, IA). The Raiders come into the non-league challenge with a 8-3 record. In their last challenge, Dunkerton was beaten by Tripoli (Tripoli, IA), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Turkey Valley Trojans (Jackson Junction, IA) in a challenge, on Thursday, September 19. Sumner-Fredericksburg will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Clayton-Ridge (Guttenburg, IA).
