Appalachian Eagles (Oneonta, AL) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Ider Hornets (Ider, AL), 49-0 in a league match.

The Eagles (5-0) will now prepare for their match against Section (Section, AL). The Lions come into the non-league match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Section routed Cedar Bluff (Cedar Bluff, AL), 19-7, in a league battle.

The Hornets now have a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Gaylesville for a 1A Region 8 battle on Friday, October 3.
